“The secret of change is to focus all of your energy, not on fighting the old, but on building the new.” ~ Socrates

It’s no secret that mediation has been used the world over to garner physical relaxation, guide spirituality, and above all else, improve our mind-body wellness. Not making a resolution, but making a promise to myself. A promise to get back into the routine of meditating, before moving, it was a daily ritual, but life sometimes get in the way. It pacifies us into submission and we tend to underestimate the power of procrastination.

Though it is an ancient practice, many of today’s health care professionals recommend meditation as a treatment option for chronic pain, stress, anxiety, insomnia, depression, as well as symptoms of major chronic illness like heart disease, cancer, and diabetes. As a gift to myself this new year I will find a quiet location, that’s comfortable, and focus my attention and attitude toward positivity and wellness.
