Feel Good Friday

Is it just me or did January have legs. It seems like yesterday we were ringing in the New Year, and on my Social Media timeline I see a few friends already counting down til Christmas. I know! Bah Humbug!

Well, it may be too early to count down to Christmas, but not to count down til the weekend. We’re one more sleep til SATURDAY! Yayyy…….But for now, let’s cruise through this ‘Feel Good Friday’ with Adele…..

 

On October 22, 2015, Adele announced that she would release her third album, 25, in November. The following day Adele released the ballad “Hello,” which debuted at No. 1 on Billboard’s pop charts, thus becoming Adele’s fourth chart-topper.

 

25, which was released on Nov. 20th, is a collection of emotional, sometimes plaintive songs. Adele posted 25’s cover on Instagram, and said of her first full-length studio project in several years: “My last record was a break-up record, and if I had to label this one, I would call it a make-up record. Making up for lost time. Making up for everything I ever did and never did. 25 is about getting to know who I’ve become without realising. And I’m sorry it took so long but, you know, life happened.”

 

Adele also believes 25 will be her last album with her age as its title, believing that 25 would be the end to a trilogy. On 22 October, the video of “Hello” was released, and was viewed over 27.7 million times on YouTube in its first 24 hours, making history as the first single to receive more than a million downloads in a week’s time; breaking the Vevo record for the most views in a day, surpassing the 20.1 million views for “Bad Blood” by Taylor Swift. On 28 October, news outlets, including BBC News, reported that “Hello” was being viewed on YouTube an average one million times an hour, going on to become the fastest video to hit one billion views on YouTube.
