Sometimes it involves giving up everything you have ever known, or everyone you have ever loved, for the sake of something greater. But sometimes it doesn’t.Sometimes it is nothing more than gritting your teeth through pain, and the work of every day, the slow walk toward a better life.   That is the sort of bravery I must have now.”

Two years ago when I announced to my family I was moving to live in another country, they wished me well. There were some tears, and lots of mixed emotions but they were genuinely happy for me. When I told my friends about my move, they said I was BRAVE!

When I think about bravery, it brings to mind a sense of fear or being afraid, but moving forward in any event. The unknown always leads way to fear….Death, moving to a new place, going off to college or university, but bravery is what pushes us forward.

Whenever I started a new venture, whether it was starting a business, a new job or a new adventure; I also put my heart into it, I did it with passion and determination throwing myself into the moment. Bravery isn’t something that can be thrust on someone, nor does  it mean ignoring your intuition and never being afraid. It’s about trusting who you are, pushing past all the adversity and having faith in your own ability to follow through on what you started. It means choosing to hold on to courage instead of holding on to fear. Bravery is not for the faint at heart, it’s not for second guessing or self-doubt because once you cross that threshold, you must have the courage to let go and let faith take the wheel.
