“Seeing, hearing, feeling, are miracles, and each part and tag of me is a miracle.”
~ Walt Whitman
If you’ve never seen a miracle, then you’ve never looked in a mirror. If you’ve never witnessed a miracle, you have never seen a baby. When most people think of miracles they think about being healed of some terminal ailment or winning the lotto but they never think of themselves as a miracle. A living, breathing, walking miracle of fluids, flesh, bones and thoughts.
We are not hardwired to express gratitude, it’s a skill that has to be learnt. You must first recognise what is you’re grateful for, acknowledge it and then appreciate it. Don’t just express gratitude when it feels good or convenient, give thanks even when you’re not in the mood. As for me, my gratitude list is updated constantly, at the top is always family, friends, work, my strength and the miracle of life.
Even if you’re a doubting Thomas, there’s so much to be grateful for and there are miracles happening every minute of your life.
