Feel Good Friday-Life’s Simple Pleasures

“Simply enjoy life and the great pleasures that come with it.”   ~ Karolina Kurkova

It’s often been said that “all the good things in life are free” or is it “all the best things in life are free?” Whichever way it goes, beyond a shadow of a doubt you will find some truth in that adage. There are countless satisfying acts that we never really notice which brings us great pleasure.

They are the little things we all subconsciously celebrate in our own special way, like…

That Song That Makes Everything Feel So Right- Hearing the right song at the right time is like a magic bell going off and sending you into a feeling of euphoria. Christmas songs always make my heart leap. Hearing the right song at the right time invokes the senses and life just seem so simple. Music distracts us from the social ills and transforms us into a world of simple pleasures as the music reverberates through our soul.

Reminiscing–There is nothing more gratifying than reminiscing the wonderful moments you’ve shared with family or old friends. The only thing that can top that is being in with them while you’re reminiscing. This was a trend for my family and I back home whenever we had family gatherings at Easter, Summer and  Christmas, as the years passed on we had even more stories to share.
Knowing You Have More Time to Sleep – 9-5ers live for the weekend. Being awakened abruptly by an alarm clock each morning can be a shock to the system. Rolling over and knowing you don’t have to rush out of bed and hit the road……Priceless! You get that warm fuzzy feeling knowing you have time to give your bed some more love as you slide gracefully back into dreamland.
Completing What You Started – Accomplishment brings that happy feeling, we secretly smile, our hearts leap and we pat ourselves on the back on a job well done. Self-accomplishments is one of the most rewarding simple pleasures in life.

I love playing my favorite music while I’m working on a chore I’m not crazy about doing. It really lifts the mood and, in the end, I have the sense of accomplishment! Great post!
