It’s easy to lose sight of what’s important and lose sight of truth and meaning. Though I constantly write about topics of personal development, changing your mindset, gratitude, reprogramming those years of bad programming it still amazes me how reality can sometimes slap me in the face. How the slight slip of the tongue can bring on a resurgence of a bad habit. I can blame the endless chatter of everyday living the demanding obligations of life for the bad practice of putting my mind on autopilot and allowing those negative thoughts to creep into my thoughts. But I really want, to be honest, it’s me forgetting some of life’s little lessons.
Throughout the many changes in life, we experience many things, love, death, betrayal, happiness, success, disappointments. Yet we walk through life accepting some things while ignoring others. Whether we choose to ignore them or not here are three things we should never ignore.
You Are Responsible For Giving Your Life Meaning
Having an abundance of tangible things or joining every volunteer service in town won’t give more meaning to your life. A school teacher spending six hours a day in front of a classroom can feel just a fulfilling doing her job as the President of The United States. By focusing on what you don’t have can make your life empty, no matter how great your achievements are.
There’s An End To Everything
Careers, relationships, life! Nothing last forever, so many people have come before you and have experienced pain, joy, happiness, love, success, misery. You’re not alone in your fight, appreciate everything and know that what you’re going through right now, someone else has had the same experience, they may not have walked in your shoes but they have at some point gone through the motions, they’ve lived in doubt and dreamed of succeeding. Don’t sweat the small things, don’t get depressed about whatever wave you’re riding right now. Just as we all live and die we all experience life.

Stop Complaining and Figure It Out
We all know that at least one chronic complainer. If it rains they complain that the sun’s not shining if the sun is shining they complain that it’s too hot. The great news is you have a choice, you can either sit and listen or you can completely tune them out like I do but then I look inside myself and ask why have I attracted this person in the first place?
How many times have I found something to complain about? We’re all conditioned to complaining whether your care to admit it or not. It takes a lot of practice and a lot of years to broke that programming but I do my best to cancel that negative programming. Complaints don’t change anything they take you nowhere, the only thing complaining does is hold you back. So either you do something about what you’re complaining about or keep those complaints to yourself.
Here’s a tip, instead of complaining about the rain, be grateful that you don’t have to water your plants.
