There’s no question that we are now living in one of the most technological eras of human existence, the era that has forced us into a communication evolution where snail mail has lost its popularity to electronic mail and text messaging. Video chats are now more prevalent that an ordinary phone call. With all this technology, we have the ability to reach and change the lives of millions of people.
Technology has changed the way we live and social media has given us the power to drastically changed the way we documented our lives. What are you doing with this power you now have at your fingertips? What digital footprints are you leaving behind? We’ve all heard about Carbon footprints but no one ever takes into consideration their online footprint. You know, the digital messages, comments, blog and bits of information you share on the internet.
All this information will be left behind like bread crumbs for future generations, just as hieroglyphics on the walls of the great pyramids and papyrus were left behind by the ancient Egyptians. Those ancient messages, though cryptic some may seem, allowed us to learn about their culture, their daily living and beliefs. You may not be Egyptian or know hieroglyphics but what do you want people to know about you? What will your online footprints say about you?
For me, I’ve chosen to leave footprints of gratitude that will inspire, motivate, education and aspire to create goals and follow their dreams no matter how ridiculous they may seem to others.
