“Happiness is a choice. You can choose to be happy. There’s going to be stress in life, but it’s your choice whether you let it affect you or not.” ~Valerie Bertinelli
Ask a thousand people and they will say they wish to be happy. Happiness is often ranked just below wealth, sometimes about it, no matter the ranking they’re both usually at the top of everyone’s list and by now you should know that happiness comes when you display the ability to deal with what life throws at you instead of the absence of conflicts in your life.
In your pursuit of happiness forget what you’ve lost, instead focus on what you have, it’s not what’s taken away from you that matters but what you have left. Family, great friends, life!
3 things to accept in your pursuit of happiness:
1. Patience doesn’t equal waiting-Being patient means you have the strength to remain positively focused while facing adversity. We tend to use this word loosely, waiting nervously for your turn in the doctor’s office or flight at the airport is not a display of patience because it’s something you can’t control.
2. Change doesn’t happen overnight- Turn over a new leaf today doesn’t mean that your entire life will be perfect. Studies show that it takes 30 days to form a new habit, 60 days for your brain to be rewired and that habit to become a lifestyle.
3. Mental strength is the often overlooked Super Power– Feed it, spend time with people who support you and indulge in situations that feed your spirit. Life doesn’t give us what we ask for, life gives us what we need to grow!
