new-year-new-possibilities

I hope that in this year to come, you make mistakes because if you are making mistakes, then you are making new things, trying new things, learning, living, pushing yourself, changing yourself, changing your world. You’re doing things you’ve never done before, and more importantly, you’re Doing Something. So that’s my wish for you, and all of us, and my wish for myself. Make New Mistakes. Make glorious, amazing mistakes. Make mistakes nobody’s ever made before. Don’t freeze, don’t stop, don’t worry that it isn’t good enough, or it isn’t perfect, whatever it is: art, or love, or work or family or life. Whatever it is you’re scared of doing, Do it. Make your mistakes, next year and forever.
~ Neil Gaiman

Congratulations! Whatever trouble you’ve faced this year, whether you felt bombarded by your financial, family or work obligations you’ve made it through. You have triumphed over everything and anything that may have left you feeling powerless to bring some change to your life or powerless to move forward with whatever goals you had planned at the beginning of the year. We often try to change situations beyond our control while shelving the ones that are within our control to change, insanely frustrating ourselves. So as you begin a new year you can now face all those challenges with a new heart and a clear mind because you now have 365 days to do it. 365 days to rekindle that spark that was dimmed while you were being bombarded by life.

As the end of 2018 approaches, I’m looking forward to 2019. I’m looking forward to setting a few new goals for myself, rekindling the ones that were shelved and almost forgotten. I’m open and receptive to the magic, the miracles but most of all the possibilities that will come with this New Year. The challenges will also be welcomed and I am expecting a few of those but this early in the game I’ve already conditioned myself to accept those I cannot change, redirect the ones I can and recognise the differences in those obstacles.

This is my submission to Debbie’s Forgiving Friday   series, where she writes about and invite others to share their thoughts on  Forgiveness, Self-Love and Personal Growth.

  1. Yes!! Go, Etta. I love this:

“I’m looking forward to setting a few new goals for myself, rekindling the ones that were shelved and almost forgotten. I’m open and receptive to the magic, the miracles but most of all the possibilities that will come with this New Year.”

You are so perfectly positioned for your future. (John-Roger has a great question, something like …. what if we are where we are because we’re being pulled by our future not because of our past mistakes?)

I acknowledge you for your willingness to stand in what’s authentic for you, to get “messy”, to learn from the past, and to accept what is. Acceptance is such a key to forgiveness and moving on, in my experience. I am so excited to see what 2019 has in store for you.

I love you! I’ll share this post tomorrow and happy #ForgivingFridays Etta. xo

    Love and Light,
