Intention is one of the most powerful forces there is. What you mean when you do a thing will always determine the outcome. The law creates the world.
― Brenna Yovanoff

There are many tragedies in life, the greatest of all I believe is abandoning your goals and the things you dream of. That ‘thing’ that stops us from following our hearts or abandoning our goals is usually so painful that it stops us in our tracks. It could be any ‘thing!’  Loss, like the passing of a loved one, the passing of a beloved pet, a bad breakup, that feeling of despair, because life’s not always fair, can be so crippling, it takes all the steam out of you.

For some of us, that once vibrant soul, so full of energy, wishful dreams, hope, and joy, becomes vacant and discontent.  When we can no longer fuel our desires it’s difficult to keep our thoughts pure, each day becomes just that more difficult to cope with the world’s seemingly relentless urge to break our will and crush our souls into submission.  How do we keep the intentions that once fueled our desire for happiness, peace, joy, love? By remembering life has offered us no guarantees. The guarantees that we have imagined were created in our souls.

If you expect nothing from the world, you will receive nothing in return, but whatever is demanded with great enthusiasm and intentions, the universe in its power delivers. Peace, joy, love, success, happiness! Yes, the world is filled with death, pain, suffering. It’s filled with bad people taking advantage of good people. But it’s also filled with creators, innovators, dreamers, and doers. When I sat down to write this blog, I wanted to write about loss. I’ve never suffered so much loss as I have in the past 2 years. As our time in the world grows, we are certainly forced to appreciate every second of time. The clock chimes differently when were are adults than when we were our younger selves. In my youth, time never existed. We got up with the rising of the sun, slept in its setting, and enjoyed life in between. Tragically at some point in our lives, we not only realize but learn to accept these 4 truths.

1. Only the present offers you opportunities.- The past can no longer offer you what you have chosen not to accept and the future cannot give you what has yet to exist. When the opportunities come, you have to accept. What you do today is what will continue to fuel your desires tomorrow.

2. Your life depends on your willingness to survive.- I’ve said this many times, tough times don’t last but tough people do. The pain you’re feeling right now is taking away all of your good intentions, leaving you with unpure and diluted thoughts. But your determination will give you the strength to get through the hard things and create a life worth living.

3. Bad things happen to good people. – You can have the purest heart in the land, that will not make you immune to the evils of this world. You are not alone for every happy, smiling good pure heart out there.  They have all gone through some pain or trauma at some point in their lives.  Don’t assume because you walked into someone’s ‘ Greatest’ chapter, the rest of the novel is fantastic.

4. You have to learn to adapt or die.- death isn’t always physical. Adapting means when the fuel runs low, shifting your intentions, creating new thoughts, appreciating the time you have left while using it wisely. Find that thing that’s stopping you and release it.

Pinned message: In reality, we outgrow all the things we thought we couldn’t live without, and we learn to love and accept things we never knew we wanted. Life literally keeps leading us on a roller coaster of emotions. You have to keep the faith. Trust the Journey. Find the Lessons.
