Your time is limited, so don’t waste it living someone else’s life. Don’t be trapped by dogma – which is living with the results of other people’s thinking. Don’t let the noise of other’s opinions drown out your own inner voice. And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want to become. Everything else is secondary.
― Steve Jobs
I bet you’ve heard this before. Life doesn’t have to always be perfect for it to be great. We don’t always need perfect moments to appreciate life, all we need is a perfect attitude towards life. The perfect plan, perfect job, the perfect time to take a vacation…..Even though we know our time here is limited, we build our lives on perfect.
The mindset behind this thinking is what causes us to lose time, time with family, time with loved ones and time for ourselves. The only way to appreciate anything is to appreciate life. Take the vacation, make the most of that job until you find something better, if one plan doesn’t work, start over. Don’t spend your life waiting for perfect moments. Time waits for no one and one day you will run out of time.
Sometimes you’ll feel like you’ve got it all together but commitment is hard when you’re looking for perfection. Many days you will feel like you’re putting one step forward and two steps back, you will feel like nothing is going right, that life is just one huge bag of disappointments. But if you look closely, you’ll see how perfect life is. Even on a rainy day, there’s cause to smile.
Life comes at you fast, in the grand scheme of things, even without perfection there is always hope. Grind it out, look past your need for perfection, remember, there are no flowers without rain, disappointments make success that much sweeter when it comes and life is never perfect unless you value it perfect. Don’t wait for perfect moments, look for something perfect in each moment!
