Celebrating The Fanfare of Life

Start each day with a positive thought and a grateful heart.

Life is filled with celebrations. We celebrate pregnancy, and birth, and share a celebration of life when someone dies. How many times do we celebrate actual living? I know we live each day the cycle of eat, sleep, work, but what happens in between those hours? How are we living those hours? What is it that you’re doing right now to celebrate waking up this morning? Celebrations aren’t always about the fanfare, cake, balloons, cigars, or champaign. The simple act of gratitude, or doing something for yourself can be a celebration in itself.  With all, its wonderful thrills, love and laughter, and happy moments, Life itself is a fanfare.

I’m currently training for a 13mile charity hike happening this coming Sept. Each morning I train is a celebration of living I lift my hands up and shout because I am so grateful that I have the ability to do this. We go to sleep each night with no thoughts of waking up the next morning because we automatically assume we will. My celebration of living doesn’t end there. In celebration, I start and end my days in prayers of gratitude because prayer isn’t always about asking. Sometimes it’s about thanking!! I have over the years had a tough course in self-love, appreciation, and faith.

Life isn’t always going to be a bed of roses. Yes, sometimes life is hard, sometimes it’s painful, and sometimes, it may seem hopeless but in all those situations, you’re alive and that says something. My grandmother used to say, “if you have breath in your body it means you’re alive and if you’re alive you should LIVE!” That may sound like a riddle, but it simply means we should be grateful that we have another day to celebrate being among the living. At some point in your life someone, maybe your parents, grandparent, aunts, uncles, all celebrated your birth. Through the years the celebrations continued as each birthday came and went. Don’t let it stop there, no matter the situation, the celebration should go on!  Take a deep breath and celebrate that breath.  Celebrate the fanfare of life!
