Nothing Can Hinder You From Rebuilding Your Own Consciousness
“When you are in difficulties, look upon the overcoming of them as a great adventure. Resist the temptation to be tragic, to give way to self-pity or discouragement; and approach the problems as though you were an explorer seeking a path through Darkest Africa, or an Edison working to overcome difficulties in connection with a new invention. You know that there is a way out of any difficulty whatever, no matter what it may be, through the changing of your own consciousness by prayer. You know that by thus raising your consciousness any conceivable form of good that you can desire will be yours; and you know that nobody else can by any means hinder you from doing this when you really want to do it – relatives, customers, employers, the government, bad times, so-called – nothing can hinder you from the rebuilding of your own consciousness – and this rebuilding is the Great Adventure.”

Expanding Your Consciousness
The moment you realize a particular Truth, it begins to work in your life. It begins to change, first your consciousness, and then your body or outer circumstances. You know, of course, that outer things always follow the consciousness. But any spiritual Truth that you begin to realize at least to some extent, will go far beyond this. It not only changes and heals the particular problem for which you were praying, but it will change every part of your nature for the better. Often you will suddenly come to a realization of something you never understood before. An entirely new meaning of a particular text will open up to you. You thought you understood but now you get something new. This is a great step forward, and it brings some kind of healing because you cannot get an increase in understanding without getting a healing. It may not necessarily be a physical healing. It may be a healing of disposition, or the overcoming of a fault, & so forth. Whatever the new thing is, you will never lose it again. Realization is the key to demonstration. ~Emmet Fox
