Wonderful Wednesday-Paradigm Shifts

“If you want small changes in your life, work on your attitude. But if you want big and primary changes, work on your paradigm.” ~ Stephen Covey

Paradigms are beliefs that we’ve imposed on ourselves or belief that has been imposed on us. They are beliefs that were bred into us by our parents, grandparents, peers and society. But to grow we must dissolve those beliefs and stop outside those paradigms that affect the outcome of our lives.

Paradigm: Everything in life is fine.

Life isn’t a struggle. You’ve accepted that this is the best your life is going to be and you’ve gotten as far as you’re going to get in life. Maybe because you’ve settled or you feel you don’t deserve more.

Breaking this paradigm: I am happy, but not satisfied.

We all have a natural desire to grow and evolve. To grow, learn more and know more about the world we live in. Every time we achieve something, some other desire pops up for something greater. Adopting a new perspective is acknowledging that you’re not satisfied enough. That you want an extraordinary life and your want more for yourself.

Paradigm: My best days are behind me.

Many people, particularly in their 40s and beyond, feel like they’ve already accomplished all that they  can, and there is not enough time left for them to start  anything new. You’ve developed a don’t care attitude and feel like ….”Why bother?”

Breaking this paradigm: My best years are yet to come.

If you knew you’d live to be a centenarian, what changes would you make to your life? Would you still feel that there’s nothing left for you to accomplish?

It’s predicted that people will live longer and healthier than the generation before. Create a mindset that prosperous, happy and healthy, live as if you’re going to live 100 years. Adopting this new perspective does nothing but good for your life today and in the years to come.

Paradigm: Needing the world’s approval.

Before doing anything,  you feel you need the world’s approval or someone else’s validation. Seeking approval, appreciation, acknowledgement and guidance from your employer, co-workers, friends, clients or parents. Or you look at conditions and circumstances to prove that you’re on the right path.

This paradigm is often hard to see because most of us naturally sell our abilities short. Take an honest look at your life to see if you need outside approval before going for goals or taking on new things.

Breaking this paradigm: Spirit guides me at all times.

Having the strong desire to do, create, or express something, that longing is spiritual discontent.  If you think that  your desires are not important and have a mindset of doom, you have to release those false ideals and answer the call of your true intentions. you will be guided and assured of success.
